Brian Armstrong has more than 30 years of capital markets experience including venture capital investment and management, M&A, corporate finance and operations, and corporate strategy. He has been an advisor to dozens of companies spanning from venture to enterprise stage in financial services, high-tech, healthcare IT, life sciences, manufacturing, retail, and communications. More recently, he has helped other corporate entities establish venture funds to catalyze impact and innovation. He has also advised academic and research venture entities with inception, fundraising, deal sourcing, asset management, and syndication.
Previously, Brian was one of the founding partners of Point B Capital, a corporate venture capital fund that made more than 30 investments in venture-stage businesses in Colorado and across the United States. Before that, Brian was the chief operating and financial officer of RB Capital, Inc. a holding company based in Louisville, Colorado. He started his career in the capital markets arena with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, the international firm of Deloitte, in their Emerging Markets Group, where he worked on investment banking teams to privatize, restructure, and sell more than 100 companies in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia.
Brian has served on the boards of various early- and growth-stage companies and on several nonprofit boards, including the Rocky Mountain Venture Capital Association (RMVCA), the Deming Center Venture Fund (DCVF) at the University of Colorado, and the Institute for International Business (IIB) at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. Brian received his bachelor of business administration degree in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business and a master of business administration in finance and business economics from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
